Mobile Tyre Fitting - 24/7 mobile callout

Mobile tyre fitting means the workshop comes to the vehicle instead of the vehicle going to the workshop. Our vans carry tyre stock, a wheel balancer, a compressor, a torque wrench and the tooling needed to break a bead and seat a new tyre, so the entire job is completed at the roadside, on your driveway, in a car park or outside your workplace.

It matters most in two situations. The first is when the car cannot safely be driven - a sidewall split, a blowout, or a puncture on a vehicle with no spare, which now covers the majority of new cars sold in the UK. The second is when driving to a garage is simply the wrong use of two hours: the car is on the drive, the tyres are due, and there is no reason for anyone to sit in a waiting room.

What is actually involved in a fitting

A tyre change is not just swapping rubber. The wheel is removed, the old tyre is broken off both beads and stripped from the rim, the rim is checked for buckling and corrosion around the bead seat, a new valve is fitted, the new tyre is mounted and seated, the assembly is balanced on the machine, and the wheel is refitted and torqued to the manufacturer figure with a calibrated wrench rather than a rattle gun.

Skipping any of those steps causes problems later. A reused rubber valve on a new tyre is a slow leak waiting to happen - the rubber perishes and it costs a few pounds to replace, which is why a new valve is included rather than charged as an extra. An unbalanced wheel shows up as a steering wheel vibration at 50–70mph and wears the tyre unevenly across the tread. An over-torqued wheel can distort a brake disc; an under-torqued one loosens.

Getting the right tyre, not just a tyre

Every tyre carries a size, a load index and a speed rating on the sidewall - for example 225/45 R17 94Y. The 94 is the load index and the Y is the speed rating, and both must meet or exceed what the vehicle manufacturer specifies. Fitting a lower load index than the plate requires is an MOT failure and, on a loaded vehicle, a genuine safety issue.

Some vehicles also carry an original-equipment marking that identifies a tyre developed for that manufacturer: a star on many BMWs, MO on Mercedes-Benz, AO or RO1 on Audi, N0 to N3 on Porsche. These are not marketing. The carcass construction and compound differ from the standard version of the same tyre, and mixing them across an axle changes how the car behaves. We check the fitment against the registration before we quote.

Tyres should also be replaced in pairs across an axle wherever possible, and on a four-wheel-drive vehicle the tolerance for mismatched rolling radius is much tighter - some manufacturers specify a maximum difference in tread depth across the whole car, because a mismatch loads the centre differential continuously.

When a tyre legally has to be replaced

The UK legal minimum tread depth for cars is 1.6mm across the central three quarters of the tread and around the entire circumference. Below that, the penalty is up to £2,500 and three penalty points per tyre - so a car with four illegal tyres can attract twelve points and lose the driver their licence outright.

Tread is not the only failure condition. A tyre must also be replaced if the cords or ply are exposed, if the sidewall is cut or bulging, if there is a lump indicating internal separation, or if it has been run flat and the internal structure has been destroyed. Age matters too: the four-digit DOT code on the sidewall gives the week and year of manufacture, and rubber degrades whether or not the car is driven.

How it works

How a tyre fitting job runs

No garage. No tow truck. No waiting room. A qualified fitter at your location, fast.

  1. 01

    Tell us where you are

Call, WhatsApp or send a booking request with your postcode, vehicle registration and tyre size if you have it. The registration is usually enough for us to identify the correct fitment.

  2. 02

We confirm the tyre and the price

We check stock for your size, speed rating and load index, and confirm the total you will pay before anything is booked. No charge is added afterwards.

  3. 03

    The van comes to you

Roadside, driveway, car park or workplace. The van carries the tyres, the balancer and the tooling, so the job is completed where the vehicle already is.

  4. 04

    Fitted, balanced and checked

New tyre fitted, wheel balanced, valve replaced, pressures set and torque checked to the manufacturer figure. The old tyre goes with us for recycling.

FAQ

Mobile Tyre Fitting - common questions

Straight answers to the things people actually want to know before they call - including the ones that cost us a sale.

How quickly can you get to me?

It depends entirely on where you are. Enter your postcode on any page and you will get the callout time for that specific area rather than a national average.

In the areas we cover with our own vans, arrival is typically 20 to 30 minutes. That is an estimate under typical conditions and is subject to traffic, demand and your exact location - it is not a guarantee. Outside those areas we will not quote a time we cannot stand behind; we will take the details and come back to you with a realistic one.

What does the £49 actually include?

£49 is the total you pay, not a starting point that grows. It covers the tyre, the fitting, the wheel balancing, a new valve, disposal and recycling of the old tyre, the call-out itself and VAT.

What changes the total is the tyre your vehicle actually needs - its size, load index and speed rating, whether it is a run-flat, whether it carries an original-equipment marking, and whether you choose budget, mid-range or premium. We confirm the full price before anything is booked, and nothing is added afterwards.

Will you have my tyre size on the van?

Give us your registration and we will identify the exact fitment - size, load index, speed rating and any original-equipment marking your vehicle requires - and check stock before we set off.

If your size is not on the van we will tell you that on the phone, not after we arrive, and we will tell you when we can have it.

What is the legal tread depth in the UK?

For cars, the legal minimum is 1.6mm across the central three quarters of the tread and around the entire circumference of the tyre.

The penalty for driving on a tyre below that is up to £2,500 and three penalty points - per tyre. A car with four illegal tyres can therefore attract twelve points, which is enough to lose a licence.

Most tyre professionals and road safety organisations recommend replacing at 3mm rather than running to the limit, because wet braking distances deteriorate sharply once the grooves no longer have the volume to clear standing water.
